logging on PC exporting clip list to FCP. Does this program exist?
Posted by Andreas Karoliussen on May 24, 2006 at 12:45 pmIs there a free or cheap logging program/application for PC that can export batch lists to Final Cut Pro?

If you’ve used Excel sheets than I guess you’ve seen something similar to this: https://www.larryjordan.biz/goodies/index.html
Find someone that will give you a copy of Avid Medialog. It’s a stand-alone logger that comes with every Avid and owners are allowed to distribute it (for the purpose of logging). It includes machine control. Sebsky is a free program that will convert an Avid ale file to FCP for batching. https://www.dharmafilm.com/sebskytools/-dMR

May 24, 2006 at 9:13 pmAmazingly not really.
The Executive Producer is incredibly expensive and does a lot but what you’re asking for does not exist. I would avoid the Excel route as it’s picky about colons and Drop Frame NDF issues of course.
Sadly no one has come up with a $30 quick logger ala Avid logger or the excellent Discreet Logger. Although this is the first I’ve heard of https://www.dharmafilm.com/sebskytools/ … still it’s a bit confusing in a production environment where you have mostly interns or Jr. Editors doing the digitizing (ie: import an ALE then convert then import a .txt into FCP… aargh!)
