  • Logging, firewire only or does USB work?

Posted by Will Keir on July 18, 2007 at 7:29 pm

So I tried a couple cords I have on this digital cam and the only one that would fit was USB on the other end and I couldn’t get final cut 5 to see the camera.

Is this because final cut only works using “log and capture” with firewire cables?

    Thanks,

    Firewire only.

What camera has USB and not a firewire output?

Yeah, that’s what I am thinking too.

If that’s so, use iPhoto then import the photos.

Hey, don’t forget about camera phones. haha
Seriously, we are in the middle of a project where the client gave us movies captured from a camera phone. While they are going for that “extremely low budget” look, this is comical. Thought I had done it all. how wrong I was…..

    good to know, thanks man.

Note: the camera was a video camera, a small hand held home video type. Never even asked the name.

    Thanks again,
