We installed the EOS plugin on FCP. All footage shot was copied to hard drive, card for card. We then tried to use the log & transfer in FCP. When we try to browse to the file with the raw footage, FC returns with a message “unsupported files”. We see the files both .mov and .thm but they are grayed out.

Are we doing this the right way? We followed the instructions from Canon but that was if we were using a card reader. I would not think there would be a difference since we just copied the cards one by one to the hard drive.

We are on OS 10.6, FCPS 7.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Scott

CHoose the root level folder…don’t go digging. Click the folder everything is in, THEN hit CHOOSE.

Log and transfer needs the exact folder structure on the 5d card. If you dont? Build it yourself and put the files in there.

Or you could use streamclip, compressor etc

Yes, found that info on other posts. We had created a master folder and named it for the project. FCP and the Canon plug-in need to see that master folder with all the “cards/files” as DCIM. We changed the name and all is well. Thanks for the feedback.
