log & transfer…no sound coming through on clips converted
I have the sony nxcam.
Final Cut 6.03 intel on leopard.I can log & transfer just fine with the canon vixia
no problem.when I log & transfer with nxcam footage, I can see
and hear it just fine in the log & transfer player.when I actually convert to prores picture is fine but
audio is silent with just a blip sound at the start.any ideas?

THis is a guess, but check the log and transfer prefs and make sure the audio is coming in the way you want it (PCM).

interesting….for AVC import it only shows AC-3 as an option.
can’t change it to pcm.

Doesn’t it stay “Plain Stereo” or something like that? It might not say PCM, but I think it transcodes to it.

yeah it does say plain stereo.
I’m seeing in the workflow paper from sony that
I meet all requirements BUT they say you need fcp 7.
I’m on 6.03. yet I get video just fine.arrggh! wish there was a way around this besides
capturing over HD-SDI (doing now so the client can get their timecode dvd on time) -

thanks anyways Jeremy.
I tried demuxing the raw .mts files from mpeg stream clip just
to see if it would save the day as it usually does but it won’t recognize them.
