I posted before about FCP 6 not recognizing my MXF files for import. After changing a folder name to “contents”, FCP now reads the files in the log and transfer window, and I can see and scrub the footage, but I still cannot import. I get the red exclamation point after it times out.

This is my first time doing this, are there any simple troubleshooting steps? The lastclip file is missing, but I can still see and scrub thru the clips in the window. any thoughts on what could be wrong?

    thanks much

    Hi Shane,

I have been having similar issues with importing P2 as well. I can view the files, play them, log them, etc. I can even import files under 2min with no problem directly to my logging bin. My problem occurs if I try to transfer a clip that is over 3min in length, I get a red exclamation point with the rollover message “error: unknown” and the clip doesn’t import into my bin, nor my scratch disk.

I don’t have FX Factory’s plugs installed (thank you for your thorough testing on that!) but I am running FCP 6.0.2 & QT 7.4 on OS X 10.4.11, which as I am finding out by reading the past couple of hours, has problems with P2.

I am currently on a road job, logging & editing interviews for a huge corporate event and any advice that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Best,

    Joe Linton
