Log & Capture settings for HDV?
Probably just a stupid newbie question, but I’ve been using L&T since I use an AVCHD camera, and a friend did some shooting alongside me with her Sony HDV cameara. We’ve run into an odd situation. I am using FCP 7.0, and so does she. On her FCP L&C she sees a window much like my L&Transfer window, complete with clip in/out point editing. But when I fire up FCP, and choose L&C, I get a full window controlling her device and do not have the clip creation in/out points that she sees on her FCP. I have my settings set to capture Sony HDV Firewire, which is what her camera needs. It’s like I have rudimentary capture capability, having to use the viewfinder to set in points and esc in FCP to set out point, while she has complete control, including scrubbing.
I’ve looked through Help, and some of the books I’ve got, but this type of problem isn’t covered. It *seems* that I must have a setting wrong, but it *seems* like the settings are set properly to control a Sony HDV camera, and yes, I *can* control a Sony HDV camera with my settings.
Have I missed something in the setup? Why do I only have the ability to capture entire sequences and not have the ability to do the fine control of capture like I do in the Log & Transfer window?
