    I have a problem.

When I capture DV footage from my Canon XH A1, Final Cut turns everything into one big clip!

Last time I imported HDV footage from the same camera, Final Cut made individual clips of every take.

How do I change this? Right now I have a 2 minute clip with 5 different takes!!

    Thanks..

With HDV, there is something called “Start / Stop” detection that detects every time the camera starts and stops. Not sure if that same feature exists for DV.

If there are time code breaks you can set FCP to create a new clip at each TC break.

Or you could just log each take like most of us do. We log each and every single take on each and every single tape. Then we do a batch capture.
