log & capture issue: purple screen with low hum
When I open the log and capture screen, the window shows and strange purple gradient look and a low hum (like helicopters) comes over my audio system. as soon as I play a clip, this goes away. I have a sony dsr-45 deck connected to an AJA io LA, then connected to my system, if that helps.

Find the setting on the deck that is for “EE”.
Turn off “EE” during “stop”.
I’m guessing the output is looping back to the input when the tape is stopped (“EE”) and you’re seeing and hearing feedback.

That fixed it! Thank you. It was under Menu: Display: EE/PB Sel. I set it to PB. Not sure what that means, but no more loud hums!
