this might be the dumbest question about log and transfer, but a year and half ago, i was working on a project, which required me to pull footage from a P2 card to work in FCP 7. at the time i didn’t know about log and transfer, and i pulled the H264 footage directly off the card. Now the entire video has macro blocking. The card with the original footage has been erased, but is it possible to still get Pro Res 422 from the h264 files even if i didn’t go through final cut?

Do you mean you used the proxy mp4 files from the p2 card? If so… unless you can get the P2 card back or you made a backup of it…. you are SOL. Sorry.

H.264…from a DSLR camera? Did you only save the H.264 files, and not the full camera structure? If so, use Compressor to convert to ProRes 422
