LOG AND TRANSFER P2 timecode problems
HI. I am trying to export files from log and transfer to quicktimes. The problem is when ive brought them into log and transfer and exported the files, they lost their timecode. Is there anyway to maintain the timecode and HD format when using log and transfer in FCP

If you have logged and transferred the p2 files, they already are quicktimes. Check the appropriate capture scratch folder in your FCP Documents folder. Those files should already have proper time-code.

Thanks! I have the quicktimes. A completely new timecode gets created which does not match back to anything.
Do you know if P2 LOG works with files that are not from a card but have already been transfered to a hard drive? Maybe this would work better with time code.

No it doesn’t. Are you trying to watch the Quicktimes and don’t see the proper timecode? Make sure to change the Quicktime tc type to timecode by clicking on the numbers in the bottom left window like this:
Then permanently set your preferences for every subsequent QT movie by going to Quicktime Player > Preferences menu and changing ti to look like this:
