    Hi Everybody!

I am just wondering if there is a way to change the Log and Transfer settings.

Every now and then, we shoot in HD on P2 cards and transfer it into FCP as DVCPRO HD 720p60. Since our final outputs are never in HD anyways, it would be nice to transfer these HD files as DV NTSC Anamorphic to save space and rendering.

Is this possible? I have a current project that has been transferred as DVCPRO HD 720p60 but would like to re-batch capture (or batch transfer, I guess) as DV NTSC Anamorphic.

Our 16:9 final outputs are always 640×360, whether it’s HD or SD.

I am working on FCP 6.0.6.

Just another quick question. Since our final outputs are not in HD, is there a point to shooting in HD? The only factor I am thinking of is that the picture quality is better on HD but it does cost more. Anything else I should know?

Thanks so much for your time!

    [Chris Tarroza] “Is this possible?”

Not through log and transfer. After the L&T process, you’d take those files in to compressor and make a dv anamorphic file, or just plop them in the timeline.

Quality in, Quality Out. People shoot on Red for web delivery.
