You don’t. Tapeless doesn’t work that way. A separate clip for every time you start and stop the camera. WHat I do if I want one clip is make a sequence and string out all the clips in that sequence. Then use that as my source. But be careful not to nest. Copy/paste from between IN and OUT points, or if you put it in the VIEWER, the map OVERWRITE WITH SEQUENCE CONTENT and INSERT WITH SEQUENCE CONTENT to the F9 and F10 keys.

Use SDI to capture your footage. FCP doesn’t know how to read timecode over SDI so it just defaults to starting your timecode at zero and capturing your entire tape.

I would do cartwheels if someone could prove me wrong on this, because I DESPERATELY need to be able to capture video over HD-SDI with embedded timecode intact. (I’m capturing with a BlackMagic Decklink HD Extreme board.)
