  • Log and Transfer: automatically increment file names

I’m hoping this is a setting somewhere that I’m not seeing.

With tape media, when you entered the angle and take fields it added that information to the clip-name and file-name of the media. So for example, if the shot was named scene1, angle was b and take was 6, the file and clip would automatically be named: “scene1_b_6”

With log and transfer, Final cut simply names the clip and file whatever I have in the name field. Is there any way I can get it to behave like the log and capture dialog?

What you can do is use the “counter” variable when creating a clip naming preset within Log & Transfer. It will increment automatically even when you switch to a new camera clip.
