  • Log and Capture reporting T/C breaks when there are none…

Being fairly new to FCP I’m not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.

i.e. digitising from an HDV deck – the lowely HVR-M10E – FCP 4.5 on 10.3.9 is sometimes “inventing” T/C breaks for no apparent reason.

Is this a “feature” of the lovely Log and Capture app or is it a function of the cheap as chips deck? Or could it be a dodgy firewire cable?

    Any pointers greatfully received!

    Thanks.

Don’t know about your HDV problem specifically, but try 1) re-tensioning the tape 2) reading LTC instead of VITC

    HI Charlie

Thanks for the reply. It’s happening on more than one tape – not that often, but often enough for it to be a pain – esp on multi camera set-ups.

Where does reading LTC instead of VITC come in? The deck or in FCP?

And does the above mean that FCP doesn’t do this kind of stuff normally?

    Thanks.
