Under the log and capture controls, there is a tab called “Clip Settings.” This tab includes settings such as hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, black level, and white level.

On our system, with a Kona LS card, all of these settings are “grayed out.” They are NOT active.

On some systems, these controls are active. If these controls are active on your system, what input card are you using, and what kind of video do you shoot?

    Volume I, page 233:

“Note: Video levels can only be adjusted for analog interfaces”.

Not sure how to do that: I also have a KONA card, and it only has digital inputs. Hmmm…

    Paul,

We use our Kona LS to interface with a UVW-1800 BetaSP machine. Last time I checked, BetaSP is an analog acquisition format, and that Kona LS card does indeed have component ins and outs. The way I define things, a Kona LS is an analog interface.

“Clip Settings” obviously do NOT work with a Kona LS card. Is someone else (who shoots BetaSP)using another flavor of Kona, or another manufacturer’s card where they do have contol over their Clip Settings?

The lower end Kona card will not allow this. Normally, you have to digitize in D>A composite or s-video to gain control of those controls as they are for analog. If the controls are grayed out for Component or SDI, then that is normal. At least that’s my experience.
