Log and Capture problem
Using FCP5 and a JVC SR-VS30EK capture deck. This is a combination MiniDV and SVHS with firewire in/out. I can capture no problem from MiniDv but have a problem with SVHS( I have clients regularly coming in with this format for editing and encoding for streaming). With a SVHS tape playing, Log and Capture window shows the video playing and the audio meters register. I cant set in or out points since there is no timecode on tape. I assumed that I could use Capture Now, however, when I try that all I get is a black screen with the prompt under saying it is waiting for timecode. Am I missing something in the FCP settings or is there something amiss with my JVC deck which is brand new?
