Can’t figure out why Final Cut Pro freezes during log and capture. I can edit a sequence and export/import digital files without a problem, but for some reason log and capture has started to freeze. Most of the time I can shuttle through footage and set in/out points, but as soon as I try to capture it freezes, gives me the spinning wheel of death, and “application not responding.” Any ideas?

    FYI:
    Mac OS X version 0.6.4
    Processor, 2 x 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory, 8 GB 1066 MHz DDR3

    Final Cut Pro 6.0.6

    Deck, Panasonic AJ-HD 1400
Capturing via SDI/Firewire, crashes either way

    Blackmagic Decklink version 7.8

    Quicktime 10 (114)
    Quicktime Player 7 version 7.6.3 (690.7)

    Thanks,
    Dan

Hmm, since you can control the deck your device control must be selected correctly and the 422 cable to the deck is working. Try trashing prefs and repairing permissions if you haven’t already. If you have Disk Warrior run that, too. That’s what I do when FCP starts acting up.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Tried running DiskWarrior, but I’m getting problems with that too.

    –Disk Warrior–
    Disk Warrior, Directory:
“Directory canot be rebuilt because this is the startup disk.”

    Disk Warrior, Files:
    Repaid Disk Permissions, Check
Check all Files and Folders, Check
“An unexpected error occurred while attempting to perform the file operations. Restart from the DiskWarrior disc and try again. If you report this error, please mention the error code (2903, -8902).

    Disk Warrior, Hardware:
    “… functioning normally.”

If I try to restart from the DiskWarrior disk, the comp freezes…

    Any other ideas?
