Locking movement of eraser
Did I loose the ability to hold the shift key and limit the movement of the eraser ? For some reason I can’t erase in a straight line and used to do the shift-click drad eraser and move only horizontally or vertically, it’s gone on my computer.

Weird. Works for me (I’m on 10.3.9). So must be something unique to your system.

Found the culprit on Adobe’s forum, Entourage 2004 is interfering with the shift key, quitting Entourage will enable the shift ley, now I’m trying to find the patch for Entourage.

Nothing I know of grabs just the shift key
