locking down exposure
I’ve asked this question before on the forum so please forgive me but I’m having a heck of a time trying to get my EX3 so it will not change exposure during a shot when a bright or dark object moves into frame.
No matter what I do, the exposure changes and I still can’t figure out that “on/off Shutter” button on the front of the camera.
I hope someone can be patient enough to explain that to me again.

Roger, if you’re asking about exposure setting (aperture presumably) then all you have to do is set the aperture to manual (switch on the side) and set the aperture to the figure you want for the shot in question. The exposure will then remain constant no matter what comes into the frame.

I’ve taken the large and small battery out of the camera to reset everything.
Still I get exposure change.
My iris is set to manual and the shutter setting on the front of the camera is set to “on”.

That’s crazy. The exposure is definitely still changing. Although it probably won’t make a difference go to the OTHERS menu and hit RESET ALL. See if that changes anything. When the camera changes the exposure is the iris on the lens barrel physically moving?
My only other suggestion is to take your EX3 to a camera repair place close by and see if they can get the exposure to remain constant. If they can’t then there’s something wrong with it and it should be sent to Sony Repair and have them deal with it. You might be able to speak to a Sony technician before you do that and ask if they’ve ever heard of this problem before. Make sure Sony knows you’ve had this issue since day one.
