lock up when scan fro devices
It seems that all of my sony software products (vegas studio, vegas pro 8, vegas pro 8.1, cd archetec and dvd archetect 5 lock when scanning for devices. I only have the problem with sony software, both of my cd/dvd and blu ray work on with other programs
any suggestions

You never got an answer to your question, did you?
I am having the same problem. I have Movie Studio Platinum 9, DVD Architect 4.5. Both hang the whole system and will not let me kill them, even through Task Manager. I have to power off to kill them.
I have Vista 64, Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q8200 (2.33GHz), 8gb of RAM and a 1GB NVIDIA video card.
I have been emailing SONY back and forth with no success. I even downloaded and tried out Movie Studio HD 10, and it does the same thing with it, too. So, it’s something with me (my system).
