Lock Up on Capture
Hi-
I’m posting this here and at the HUGE forum. Capturing via Aja IO, FCP 4.5, HUGE 320S, Atto UL4D Dual 2 GHZ, 10.3.7. Capturing OK but every so often, in both log & capture and capture now I’m locking up. In the log & capture scenario I get the “screen of death” telling me I must restart. I do this and then go back to the drive to see the last clip that locked it up and it is around 1.2 TB! Obviously corrupted as the original capture was only a couple of GB. The same thing happens on occasion with capture now. However, the lock up occurs when I try to Escape to stop capture…spinning beach ball, yada yada. same thing with the large file and everything.
Any thoughts?

Try trashing FCP prefs if you havn’t already done so. Can’t hurt and may solve the capture problem.

Do you have an antivirus application installed? If you do, remove it, or turn it off when capturing.
