  • Lock Position of Layers after using expressions

Hi, I am relatively new to AE scripting. I have searched for a similar topic in the forum but could not find a exact answer I am looking for.

I saw this tutorial about making CG snake.
    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/drozda_jerzy/CGSnake/video-tutorial

And I am trying to make an animation where objects are following a leader layer just like in the tutorial above. I am using a same expression and slier. But my dilemma is that the leader layer stops at certain point and other layers follow the leader and end up overlapping with each other. Let’s say, if the snake in the tutorial above stops at certain point, I would like to keep the whole snake body as it is. How can I lock the positions of segment layers at certain time frame? Time remap doesn’t work for me because my segment layers are precomps and I would like to animate them in the precomps. So just locking the positions at the certain time frame will work for me.

I would appreciate any solution/suggestion to this.
