Lock Constraints Error
Heyo,
I’m an assistant editor for a reality television show and one of my editor’s was cutting and came across this message “Edit is ambiguous due to lock constraints”. She noticed a little green icon on the timeline that I’ve never seen before and she is unable to edit anything into the sequence.
We were able to work around the issue by subsequencing the section up to the suspicious locator, as well as subsequencing the section after the little green booger. BUT…..I’m curious to know what caused this little issue and how to fix without having to work around it like we did.
What caused it and how do we get rid of it in the sequence???
Any tips or insight would be helpful. Thanks.

help.. having some exact issue. running on a mac. media composer version 3.5.4
subclipped around green booger…. but really, can i get rid of that thing? i also assume its related to the error message “edit is ambiguous due to lock constraints”.

3 years later…anyone know why this is happening? Editor stumbled upon the same problem when splicing a clip into timeline. Was working fine all day, and out of nowhere the error message pops up now, with the green locator that came out of nowhere
Any workarounds? This is on Avid Symphony 4.5

HMMM, i can’t remember how we fixed this… i’ve never had the problem again, though and am now working on AVID 4.05 on a PC, sorry, wish i could remember how we fixed this. basically i think i must have duplicated it somehow. maybe i deleted my settings and redid them…?
