Lock and Load Stabilization updated for FCP X
Posted by T. Payton on August 19, 2012 at 9:44 pmOh I have been waiting for this. CoreMelt just released their update for Lock and Load to work with FCP X. It was fantastic in FCP 7 and with my first test today in FCP X it is working every better. Nice on screen controls that just magically disappear during playback. Super fast and great results.
They’ve got a demo and a release special to buy.

(I’m not on their payroll, just a delighted user.)

August 20, 2012 at 3:45 amI’m sold! This’ll work out very well for my handheld footage. I’ve never been that satisfied with the built-in stabilization.

August 20, 2012 at 2:10 pmIs $99 the “release special” price, or is there a discount code I’m not seeing somewhere?
Also, I don’t see this on the Cow site, but is there a way to email directly user to user without posting on a thread? Thanks!

August 20, 2012 at 4:05 pmIt looks like the $99 is a release special:

I believe it is about double that normally, but I could be wrong.

August 20, 2012 at 6:00 pmWARNING – I just bought this plugin only to be informed that ** No more licenses are available in our database, please contact CoreMelt Pty Ltd at sales@coremelt.com directly **
So something weird is going on. I also received a call barclaycard asking me if I had made this transaction to a Cyprus account?
I’ve had an online receipt but NOT a registration number.
Anybody else had any problems?
I wouldn’t recommend anybody else risking their money until this issue is resolved – or is it just me?

August 20, 2012 at 6:38 pmMark,
Does the 15 day trial still work?
I’m sure it is just a little bug. My license is working but I had the FCP 7 version.

August 20, 2012 at 6:59 pmHi T
I downloaded the trial and installed the software and got a ‘Trial Expired’ float on the screen.
But based on peer review I went ahead and purchased the software as I’m in the middle of a project that can really benefit from good stabilisation on quite a few shots.
Obviously something unusual is going on. Maybe they have been flooded with orders?

August 21, 2012 at 3:01 amHi Mark, we had a problem with our license server yesterday, its now resolved, everyone that ordered during the time we had a problem got sent an email with their license manually within 1 hour. Yours was emailed through 30 mins after you purchased.
The release price is $99 for a limited time. If you have already bought Lock & Load this is a free upgrade and the same license lets you use the product in Final Cut Pro 7, Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
Any problems please let us know on this thread, the coremelt forum or email us direct support at coremelt dot com. We do reply to all emails as quickly we can.

August 25, 2012 at 2:21 amHi, Roger.
I know that a while ago you just as upset and frustrated with Apple from a developer perspective as many professionals have been for an editing perspective.
How are you feeling these days? Are things any better or are they looking better?
Sorry for the more personal questions, but I remember that you were one of the first developers to speak about the situation in public on these forums.
Thanks for your time.

September 3, 2012 at 5:11 amJeremy, since 10.0.0 FCP X has added a lot of features to make it a more usable tool. Its still not suitable for all workflows that FCP 7 could handle, thats fine those users have got other places to go.
We support both Premiere Pro and FCP X with Lock & Load, and the same license works on all hosts, so no matter which way users end up going they can keep using our tools.
We’ll have a few more FCP X specific goodies coming out soon, we certainly think it’s a platform worth putting some effort into.
