Locations of files used in videos
I am archiving my videos using the “save as” command in Sony Vegas 9. I want to store all the files for a video in one directory–video clips, audio files, and the text frame files.
Saving a video to an external hard drive with the “save as” command places most of the files in the external drive, but not all. My external directory is missing the text frame files. Where does Sony Vegas store them?
I am planning on removing and reinstalling Sony Vegas, because I have had a problem with the audio mute. (It doesn’t work with every video clip. Someone on this forum suggested that I reinstall the program.) If I remove Sony Vegas, will I also lose all the text frame files?

Not sure what you mean by text frames, but if they are generated by Vegas, won’t they be “re-generated” when you reinstall? I can see how this would be a problem when moving to a different app, but if you are going Vegas > Vegas (even on a different machine or a clean install), the generated media should work (well, it should anyhow!).

By text frames I mean the text that appears in the video clips that Vegas creates, and the credit roll at the end of a video. Those files are not in the directory where I saved a video using the “save as” command.

Text information can’t be saved as a separate file.
Instead, the information to recreate the text files is contained in the veg file itself so, even when you do a “save as” and re-open that veg file, all the text info is still there waiting for you. -
