Loading from Blu Ray?
Greetings all!
I am working on a project in DVCPro HD and want to use movie footage from a Blu Ray movie disc.
Has anyone out there done this? Will copy protection not allow for this?

That all depends upon how you get there. If you use HDMI, copy protection will kick in.
You might be able to use something like Blackmagic’s HDMI to SDI converter. I don’t know if they actually built in the copy protection stuff or not.
Then you need a Mojo DX or Nitris to capture the HD.
You might be better off finding some program to rip the BluRay just like a DVD (if that exists yet), and then import the movie file.
I’ll be watching this thread for sure as we are all going to probably have to deal with this at some point.
