When you go to export the video I have the option of Quicktime or AVI . Is there a way I can get more options ? Can you upload more options somewhere ?

Use composition>make movie. The vast majority of AE renders are done that way, through the render queue. File>export is for special cases.

For more details, check the help.

Hi Steve, could you let me know why you would export?
    Thank you.

Let’s see … anything that can’t be done in the render queue, such as SWF, AVI (on Mac) or DV stream.

I’ve only ever exported to SWF. I don’t make AVIs anymore (Indeo who?) and when .dv files are needed, I’ve used Cleaner. Maybe I’ll try AE for those sometime.

I found more codecs in under the settings for each one but is there a lossless AVI or equivilent so after I add an effect I can edit it into my movie for DVD quality?

    Thanks Joey

Look in the output module and set the compressor to “none”.
