i am using the lm2DMV_v21 shader to extract vector informaion from a swirling object in maya.v7.0 ( windows ).i used the normalize value from the max displace value in output window. but still i dont get proper output .i tried uncompressed tif(as there is no 16bit support in mentalray for maya) & mental ray .mt too. but the images are not upto expected level.
as i use RSMB for shake the output is not what i wanted..
can anyone suggest me a solution..

    regards

    Make sure you read this
    https://www.revisionfx.com/generalfaqsMVMaya.htm

Most Common Mistakes: Not setting Custom Alpha on (so no alpha in MV pass). Assume one can use alpha of color pass in MV but then render color pass with MB off and MV pass with shutter set to 0.5 0.5 which puts both results half a frame apart

Without more specifics it’s hard to help
Feel free to send to techsupport@revisionfx.com one MV frame and 2 color frames (the color counterpart and the frame after or before so we have a rough idea of the actual action)

    hi pierre

Thanks for the reply i tried the way you have said (i.e custom alpha channels)& got the effect somewhat ok till a rotation of 50-60 degrees of the object per frame .but as i increase the amount of rotation the results are uncontrollable. The object in the image gets squeezed as i render with a speed of more than 100 degrees/frame .I tried with shutter speed & delay .00001 (as specified at revision effects site).but the result is not as expected. i dont have a url to link for the images.can i have your mail.id?? so that i can attach the images & send them to you .

    thanks & reg

    Send some frames to techsupport@revisionfx.com
Try to keep it below 10 megs
A few frames will do, the color pass and the MV pass
As long as we can see the frame before and after to have a sense of what the motion is
