in the last two projects I’ve done, I’ve noticed stair-stepping in any LiveType .ipr or .movs that I’ve imported into FCP. I’ve checked and rechecked settings in both programs. Not sure where this is coming from. I’ve tried different fonts and the issue is still there… most noticeable with any italicized text.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Here’s what I’ve got –
    LiveType:
    CCIR 601 NTSC 40:27
    720×486
    29.97
    Lower
    .9 pixel aspect
    SMPTE
    NORMAL for all quality settings

    FCP Sequence Settings:
    CCIR 601 NTSC 40:27
    720×486
    Lower
    29.97
    Compressor: Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2
    Quality 100%

Let me know if any more info is needed. I’m really at a loss. Not sure how this all came about. Thanks for any help!

Yep, I’m looking at this on a broadcast monitor. Weird thing is, once this stuff has been opened up and looked at on another editing system in house, they now have the same issue… almost as if there is some sort of corrupt file or virus. Very strange.

Have you tried setting the field dominance of the project in livetype?

For what it’s worth… I have totally noticed this same problem with italics. The angled lines are very jaggy. I’m working with 8bit uncompressed typically. My guess is that it has nothing to do with trashing preferences – it’s just bad with italics.

that’s kinda what I’m thinking… I’ve tried all of these suggestions but nothing has solved it. I just wonder why I didn’t notice this earlier. I’m pretty sure I would have noticed this.
