Also quite excited that both LiveType ‘ipr’ files and Motion ‘motn’ files import and key in Premiere just as they do in FCP. You can call them up to edit them from within PP – and changes are automatically reflected in the PP timeline. Useful for animated titles. LiveType even plays without needing to render… add in the small matter of AE round tripping and that’s quite an impressive graphics capability.

    Best, Ken.

Thanks for Sharing Ken… I’ve never heard mention of this. Which Motion versions work with PPro?

I’m using the last one that worked with FCP7, Motion 4.0.3

As a test a made a simple text graphic in Motion, saved, quit Motion, dragged file into PP Browser, dragged file from Browser into sequence (keyed as expected – plus real-time playback), right clicked on clip to select edit original, Motion launched, made changes, found them reflected in PP sequence!

Be interested if Motion 5 worked this way, but suspect not as it didn’t work in FCP7.

    Cheers, Ken.

Our three workstations all have Production Premium (or Master Collection) and Motion5/Compressor4. It doesn’t work and it would seem that one is required to have the Motion 4/FCP7 engine installed and available in order for this to function as you noted.

    Great find though… 🙂
