Hi All – We have been asked to shoot a wedding for free. The mother of the bride is in the hospital awaiting a bone marrow transfusion. Shooting is no problem, but we’d like to hook either our HVX200 or HPX500 up to a laptop and run the live video thru Skpe, thus allowing the mother to see her daughter’s wedding.

My sense is that my idea is too simple and won’t work. Any and all thoughts are welcomed.

    Thank you – Jay Dobek

    test, nothing beats testing.

iChat would be a simple solution also. Streaming a single camera to a single person is not that big of a deal, it is putting a video out for anyone to see that takes some doing.

If you plan to use firewire for the connection to the laptop, keep in mind that in the PN modes, there is no output over firewire. Use a non-PN mode for live out.

Perfect – taking it out of the NP mode worked great. We are going to shoot in the 480 30p mode. Had trouble with the audio, but using the mic on the Logitech camera worked great (while the video comes from the 500).

    Thank you to all.
