  “Live Update” button backwards??

  So I am watching Total Training AE and I become alerted to the “live update” button, the one next to the “Draft 3d” button. Default is supposed to be “normal” and pushing the button in changes everything to wireframe interactions, speeding up movements of objects. Mine seems to be backwards, when I create a new project the button is not pressed in and I get wireframe interactions, when I push the button in I get a live update. I looked in the preferences for a way to change this but could find none. Not a big deal, just sort of curious. I am running AE 6.5.1 on OSX 10.3.9.
