I’m trying to do a speech prepared by a client. He did the speech in English but gave me the speech in Spanish translation to have scrolling across the bottom from left to right (sorta like a news ticker or espn news updates at the bottom of the tv) . The speech is a couple minutes long so the text is long also & I have seen the scrolling option in premiere but i cant figure out how to get the words to move correctly? When I tried what i thought was the way, the first words move but keep repeating the beginning and not the other 200 words or so.. so the question is, does anyone know how to make a speech that is about 2 minutes long scroll from left to right in premiere??

a step by step would be nice or if you know of a tutorial that explains this, point me in the right direction..

    appreciate the help ..

You would create a new title and set the scroll options to crawl left to right. The problem with doing it this way is that you would likely have to constantly adjust the speed to keep up with the narration.

You would be much better off using subtitles.

Again, there are software applications that make this task easy, but within Premiere you will probably have to use the titler.

Just create your template, then choose Title > new title based on current title for the next ones.

vincent, what are the software options ? Do they or would they integrate to a format that would be compatible with premiere? I plan on doing a few of these for some people and If I could find a software that make this is easy, I’m all in.. Please, give me some names.

    Thanks,

Subtitling is usually done at authoring time. You would import a specially formatted text file containing timecode and text into Encore, which in turns will allow people to turn it on and off. In Premiere, it’s on all the time and could annoy those who don’t need them.

One such free software is Subtitle Creator.
