  • Live Streaming No Audio problem using hpx 170

    Hello,

I am trying to live stream a meeting using the HPX 170 and Ustream.tv.

I am connecting to A MacBook Pro via Firewire.

The picture is coming in fine but I have no audio.

How do I get an audio signal form the camera? is there an output setting I am missing?

    Thanks in advance.

You can only output thru the FW what mode you are shooting.
So, you have to shoot in the mode the Streaming software will except.
You’re not in VFR mode are you?

    Nope I am in 480i 30fps

It works fine if I use Ustream Producer but not if I just try to use the website.

I had a similar problem with an HVX-200A/Macbook Pro and ustream, and I’ve had nothing but trouble using the web interface. Why not use the Producer software? It’s actually pretty nicely put together, especially the Pro version. You could also go directly from the camera into FMLE and send that stream to ustream and see if that works better.

Are you actually checking that the stream has no audio on another computer? I was fooled once because ustream tends to want to turn audio monitoring off on the local system to avoid feedback.

I am using an HPX 170, a MacBook Pro, and Ustream Producer, and I’m getting video but only static in my audio. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
