We are working with a local children’s museum that would like to setup a “newsroom” complete with a green screen weather station for the kids. I’m completely dense as to what the best way to do this in a live environment without post production. What kind of equipment will be needed to do it (final quality isn’t an issue.. as long as the kids can see themselves)?

Virtually all of the entry-level “video mixers” (switchers) have chroma-key built-in.
