I’ve got a job coming up which requires me to capture video from a video tap on a 35 mm camera on a commercial set. In the past, I’ve used a little Sony DV conversion box to go into my laptop (powerbook G4, 17″) via firewire. Or, occasionally, I’ve used a DV camera. Both my box and my DV camera have packed it in recently and I’m wondering if any of you have suggestions for what might be the latest and greatest thing for doing this. The feed is generally a bnc cable carrying composite video, so different kinds of analogue connectors would be a plus.
