I’d love to capture proxy files as we shoot in our studio. The full rez files are being handled by Ki Pro systems. I know there are self-contained H.264 encoders we could use to save time. I noticed Live Capture Plus can do that, sort of. Although it’s called “Live” Capture Plus, it appears to only work via DV and only via tape – not really Live at all. Am I missing something?

It’s an older app and has been some what left as is as the product line has moved more to the larger DAM space.

I’d look into some of the more full featured capture apps/systems for what you are looking for. Digital Rapids, Just:In, Softron etc.

Live Capture is more aimed at the “DV” side of CatDV.

Yes, LCplus is a very old consumer product. though it’s still available for people who still need to convert some old DV tapes (or HDV if the playback mode is set to “downconvert”).

The name “Live” refers to the fact that you can transcode clips and add log notes while the tape is playing, rather than having to wait an hour for the tape to ingest.
