I want to capture live from a Canon XLHx, component out using the DCT-1000 cable (canon’s RGB out) to an Intensity Pro adapter then into Final Cut. I thought this would be straight forward but I’m not seeing anything in FCP when trying to Log and Capture. I have tried various settings in Easy Setup provided by BlackMagic but nothing. I’m beginning to think that I have misunderstood the capabilities. Has anybody tried this configuration?

    Canon XL-H1
    Intensity Pro
    Final Cut Studio 2
    Mac Pro (Intel)

Check your input settings for the Intensity control panel in Mac Sys Prefs – caught me out before now!

    Dave,
Many thanks…I did not even know there were setting in prefs. I’ll give that a try.

    Dave,
I changed the setting in the pref pane. Thanks again.
We still couldn’t get the connection to work via the DCT/component cable out the back of the Camera. We stopped the test because it looked like we were not going to gain anything by using component out vs tape. Our thinking now is to use SDI and get an adapter that supports SDI to FCP. Any thoughts appreciated.
