little off topic formating for pc
excuse me for going off topic here. I have a client that wants some quicktime files delivered on a portable hard drive. I belive the client to be pc based. I was informed that if I format the hard drive to fat 32 from my Mac their pc and my Mac should both be able to read the drive. The only option I see in my Mac utilty menu for formatting is Ms Dos File System. Is this what I format to for a Pc ?

Make sure you keep all files under 2 GB. The drive won’t accept anything higher in that format.
If that proves difficult for your project, you could format it as a Mac drive and buy this for the PC person:

Do you have time to run a test or two?
Just because you get the drive formatted properly doesn’t mean the PC has a useful version of Quicktime on it. You may need to negotiate on a different format and you may or may not be able to deliver the codec or the architecture.bogiesan
