I mostly use AE and PS but recently I have started toying with C4D. Today, as an experiment, I set myself the task of learning to make some ‘liquid metal’. As a starting point I have found a tutorial that uses Path Deformer Lite. It’s nice but I would like a bit more control of the flow, blobbiness, stickiness etc as well as learning how to make it interact with a surface (is this possible?)

If someone could point me to a tutorial I would be very grateful.

    Thanks
    A

You need Thinking Particles for that. Once you have your particle setup, simply put it inside a Metaball object. This also works with the normal particle system, but the level of control is limited.
