liquid latex
So I need to have a logo rising from a smooth surface of liquid latex-y substance (think those old commercials for the chocolate cell phone). To put it bluntly, I have very little idea how to do this (cloth tags maybe?). Any insight much appreciated!!!

I think your best bet would be the melt deformer, though it would take some trickery to pull it off. Short of that I think you would have to use a liquid simulator like DPIT Effex or Realflow.
