Thanks for pointing that out about the audio and the video going through different channels.
I had in fact adjusted that sync to the max of 12.
Anyway, I think (for the moment) I’ve pretty much solved the issue by creating an avi of the clip. It seems to hold sync far better than the Quicktime movie.
I also use Final Cut Pro and never have this kind of problem, but I like to use Vegas, especially when there are audio challenges as it’s far superior in the audio department.

Ahh…. you never mentioned you were using quicktime files. Quicktime files are actually decoded by your installed version of Quicktime. It also requires that the “authoring components” of quicktime be installed. If you use DV-AVI files, I don’t think you’ll see that problem.
