    A clean install of either will suffice. Simply upgrading can cause issues with permissions.

    I have done several 10.8 installs and it is working successfully. Make sure you have the latest Avid version (6.5.2 on OS 10.8.2).

    Confirm your mac has a 64-bit processor (just because it is Intel, doesn’t mean it is 64-bit.)
