  • Linking [sometimes] changes file name

    Hi,

    Working with DSLR footage…

I’ve got my transcoded ProRes material on the video line, and my sync’d Zoom H4N audio on the audio tracks [ie, I deleted the original camera audio from the timeline after I sync’d the Zoom audio].

In *some* cases, when I link [Apple-L] the Zoom audio with the ProRes video, the video track then takes on the name of the audio track, [ie, instead of retaining it’s original file name].

This doesn’t happen all the time, just sometimes.

How can I ensure the video and audio retain their original file names in the timeline even after they are linked [via Apple-L].

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

If you haven’t already, try deleting your Final Cut preferences and cache.
