Linking clips without renaming them
We are doing some prep work for a movie and we would like to match the audio to the dailies we have created without FCP changing the names of the audio files.
The problem we are running into is that when we link the video to the audio from the field recorder we want the names to remain as they are on the recorder. What is happening to us is that as soon as we link them and put them int a bin all the tracks of audio are renamed to match the video.
This is not so much a problem for editorial but a huge problem for sound editorial when they get the OMF back from Picture. All the audio files will be named the same… so there will be no “Boom” “Bill “Sarah” etc.
we need them to remain the same as the imported name through this process
anyone have any ideas or work flows to help this go smother?
