    Hi,

Maybe the post subject may not be exactly what I am after but here is my dilema.

Due to the nature of our work we constantly have the requirement to ingest one clip (between 90 and 120 minutes). In addition to other logging details it suits us to enter one in and one out timecode, walk away and come back in a couple of hours. We would then use this clip, which is a programme delivered to us, and make additional cuts for broadcast in our region.

The sequence containing the cuts would then be output to digi for broadcast.

We then require promos to be cut for this material. Until now we have cut these promos on other equipment (non FCP) that required re-ingest of part of the original material. This ingest was based on a pull list.

If you are with me so far my question is this:

When I import this batch list in to Final Cut as the example below,

    10:00:00:00 – 10:01:00:00 reel001 opening titles
    10:30:00:00 – 10:32:00:00 reel001 man walks in to a bar
    10:41:00:00 – 10:42:00:00 reel001 horse smiles at man

I can link (or whatever is required) to my original clip / media file which was digitised as below

    10:00:00:00 – 11:30:00:00 reel001 programme

Before I pose a few other questions it would be great to know if this can be done “simply”. I have imported an EDL with say 30 clips and then relinked to my ‘huge’ long clip but it was very tedious for me as it kept prompting me for each clip I was trying to link.

Any help appreciated if you can wade through the above.

    Regards, Matt

IN case it was not obvious in my post, my main question contained an error. The correction is below.
