Could problems arise from using the top level of the Avid MediaFiles folder as a location for linked files such as QuickTimes, Pan & Zoom stills or LUTs?

Just don’t put them in the numbered folders…might be best to keep them out of the MXF folder. So yeah, right in the Avid MediaFiles folder…shouldn’t be a problem’

    Marvellous; that’s what I’d hoped.

    Happy Holidays. 🙂

I would only dare to do this if I am the only one working on the project.
It is not uncommon to trash entire media folders expecting nothing else but ‘true’ Avid files in there.
(No one normally looks into those folders, but uses consolidate and expect stuff to be done after that.)

Thanks Bouke. Yes indeed: each programme has its own workspace on Isis with one Avid MediaFiles folder, which is nice, but that workspace gets cluttered with many folders with confusing names by many users. I’d like anyone downstream from me to find that all the essential media is in the Avid MediaFiles folder. Step in there for a well-ordered universe and folders laced with lavender oil.
