  • link camera moves with 2d distortion coordinates?

I’ve had trouble with this in the past, and haven’t figured out a convenient solution yet. I’ve got a bulge effect on a 3d layer, so when the camera moves, or even the layer, the position coordinates don’t move with it. Has someone figured a way to link the position coordinate for effects like this (radial wipe, ramp, etc) to the layer’s position and animate the coordinate position independently?

I’m missing something. If you apply the Bulge effect to a 3D layer and then move the camera or the layer, the effect tracks as I would expect.

Are you maybe applying the effect to a 2D adjustment layer?

you would expect it to. like if you move the layer, the bulge coordinates remain the same so the bulging doesn’t effect the layer once the camera’s moved or the layer’s moved. in other words, the bulging coordinates are independent from the camera or layer’s position. does that help strike some thoughts?

Not really. I’m looking it right now and if I move the camera, the area of the layer that gets distorted by the effect doesn’t change. Is that what you want, or is that what you’re trying to avoid?

I posted this in the other forum as well and Darby brought up a good point. I have the layers continuously rasterized as they’re AI files that need to be so. I don’t have the time to go back and resize and reload, that would really screw things up at the moment. Too many layers. Is there anyway around it? I could just do all my animation before the camera move, but I like to have some of it still going on like the radial wipes and such. It’s this sort of industrial factory/pipe scene.
