Can anyone tell me how I import an material and map it onto an object to be in exactly the right position on the object e.g I have a photshop file which is a round logo I made an path round the logo and exported out to Illustator paths, imported that into Cinema 4d extruded the spline path so far so good.
I then added the material and select the logo as the source and dropped the material on to the round extruded object made the mapping tag to frontal projection but the logo is not in position, I have to
painstakingly move the offset y and x to try and match this up this is taking a long time I wonder if someone know a quicker way of doing this, please help driving me mad.

I’ve had success using “flat” rather than “frontal” projection in the texture options. Then you can use the texture tool (in the Tools Menu), along with your move, scale and rotate tools to put the texture where you want it. However, this method failed for me yesterday. The texture kept sliding around when I animated the camera…

If the texture (ie your PSD ) and the geometry is proportionally equal,
first set to flat projection, then rotate the texture gizmo to face
its z axis toward the geometry,
then right click the tex tag and “Fit To Object”.

Since your geometry and psd are sprung from the same source
    it should work fine.

    Cheers

Go into BP3D paint the extruded section in a distnguishable color then export the material file.
Now open up Photoshop and set the logos Opacity to 50% move it to the coloured section to the point where they align then turn the opacity back to 100% and it should be aligned. if you aligned it well enough before otherwise your going to need to preview it a few times and tweak it out.
