Lines on screen, not drop out.
Hi,
I’m getting some lines across parts of the picture and it seems to be getting more frequent as I progress into the film, having been editing for 4 months, and is associated with minor movements perhaps when an actor turns his head, filmed with a hand held camera. The lines are not associated with single frames as they are not there when checking through frame by frame. They are always there however I render the project. The film was shot with 3 different cameras and the lines are not linked to one camera. I use Sony Vegas Pro 8 with its basic settings,
HDV 1440x1080i PAL 25fps, upper field first, Gaussian blur, no deinterlacing.Any thoughts to help. Thanks, Stephen

I can’t see what you are describing, but whenever I work with HDV PAL, I set interlacing to blend and my pixel aspect ratio to 1.333, upper field and I tick adjust source media to match project settings. I leave my pixel format alone at 8 bit.
I output to HDV1080i intermediary files and DVD using the DVDA PAL Widescreen and have not had any problems with these settings.
My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10 (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

Thanks for looking. The lines are a little clearer on the real youtube. Search – zelica 333 test 12 (zelica333 my username).
The lines are small and narrow, see around the mans face, then around his coat as he exits. The are even more noticable with playback on a television. Thanks. -

This sounds like an interlacing issue. You set it to none. Set it to blend and re-render.
